I’m always thrilled when I get to capture Wesley Chapel family photography for Jason, Lenzi and their handsome little men: Carson, 4 and Nick 1.5 (and another little boy who was still in mom’s belly for these photos!). Lenzi chose this location because of the beautiful greenery in the background, as well as the variety of the wooden bridge/concrete paved path- she thought it would create a few natural varied scenes while also capturing the true essence of Florida greenery. The weather was overcast on the day of the session which seems to be the case for all of Lenzi’s sessions, lol. She said she should expect it, but she kind of loves it and is just another part of their story.
Being a boy mom isn’t
an easy job, but it is
definitely the best
job anyone could
ever have.
Here’s what Lenzi had to say about her Wesley Chapel Family Photography session:
Were you worried about any parts of the session beforehand? If so, what were the worries?
I was only worried the kids wouldn’t warm up and smile / behave – but you know all of the tricks in the book to get those sweet boys engaged.
Tell me about your favorite parts of our session, or why you enjoyed the session.
I love how laid back the sessions are. It’s never super posed or forced, you just kind of let us be and capture candids when you can. I love too that you ask me what poses I want to be sure to get before we start that way there’s no disappointment later of like “oh shoot I wish we had done xyz”.
Tell me about the outfits you wore to the shoot (where you bought them, why you chose them, etc).
We went with a blue theme, partly because we already had several pieces that would work and would minimize extra shopping – but also with Christmas coming we thought how fun it would be to have “a blue Christmas” on our family cards. Funnily enough the only thing we had to buy was mine and the boys’ shoes from Amazon, everything else we already had!
What are some words of wisdom you have for other families preparing for a session?
Above all else just relax and trust the process. Kristine is there for every step of the process and MORE than prepared – from picking a color theme, to finding shoes for an outfit, to how you should do your makeup… literally anything you can think of she’s already thought about and has a plan. Don’t get so worried planning the little details that you forget your “why” (for us it was capturing this special season of life with two boys before our third arrives next month).
What led you to select KFP initially (price, style, personality, etc.)?
Because I’ve worked with you before! I’m a huge fan of your editing style and like how relaxed the vibe is during the shoot time. I like that you give us poses but also just capture the candids of us interacting with one another.
How thrilled were you with your experience? What were you delighted about?
My biggest delight was being able to “step away” and be in the moment. I feel like as a mom so often I’m busy trying to get photos of the kids that I end up not enjoying the moment and just being present with them. This is the one time of the year I know we will ALL be in the photo and that I can just take a step back and let someone else be in control of the situation.
What would you tell a friend about your experience with me?
I would tell anyone and everyone how stress-free the process is from start to finish. I love knowing that you’ll help me coordinate outfits, can arrange hair and makeup help if I asked for it, have galleries of previously shot locations /can make recommendations based on what I’m looking for, etc etc etc. You are so easy to work with every step of the way and take the guess work out of everything.
Is there anything KFP could do better and improve upon?
Nope 🙂 I’ve been so pleased working with you every single time.
