Senior Pictures at USF | The One Where Graduation is Cancelled

I have been friends with Laura and her family for several years now. We spent many a day at the baseball field together. I’m just not sure HOW she has graduated high school and is off to college already! Laura graduated from Tampa Catholic High School during the crazy 2020 quarantine year. She missed out on many special moments because of COVID, but Laura and her mom still made sure she had a session for her senior pictures at USF with me. We chose USF because Laura really likes the landscaping on campus and finds it to be a really beautiful place for photoshoots. She is so right, and I agree! I love the trees that cover and line the sidewalk, the flowers that bloom, the greenery, and the uniqueness of the vines and columns. Laura was a little worried about the weather because it was a little cloudy, and was even thundering when I first arrived, but it turned out to be okay!

Laura says she enjoyed catching up with me and the setting of the experience. She enjoyed the poses and found it to be very fun. Overall, she enjoyed the photo session experience a lot. She did her hair and makeup herself. She brought one dress and her cap and gown. She felt it was the perfect number of outfits for our petite session. Laura bought her dress at Marshalls. She chose this dress because she liked the way it contrasted with the white graduation gown. She chose to accessorize them with jewelry and shoes that matched the dress, but also looked nice with the cap and gown. Laura is now at the University of Miami studying architecture!

Three words you would use to describe yourself: funny, kind, creative
What was your favorite thing about being a student at your high school? I enjoyed being involved in extracurricular activities and events because it helped me to be more connected to my community and meet more people.
What extracurricular activities were you involved in? Varsity soccer, Art Club, Spirit Club, and many Honor Societies.
What were you looking forward to in your senior year? Grad Bash, prom, and graduation.
What’s your biggest pet peeve when it comes to school? Having teachers who I am unable to learn from.
Some good advice that has helped you in life: My grandma gave me the advice to treat others the way you want to be treated, which has helped me in the process of making friends.
Best advice your mom ever gave you? My mom told me to be more flexible and not restrained, and this has helped me to not be so reliant on plans to occur and to have an open mind.
One piece of advice you have for other seniors getting their pictures taken: Come prepared with what poses you would like to do during the photo session process in mind.
Laura’s advice to someone preparing for a senior photo session: Choose outfits and poses beforehand, as well as a good setting. In addition, make sure the weather is going to be pleasant the day of the shoot.
